Mr. Mathews Tsirizeni is Programme Officer for LEAD Southern and Eastern Africa (LEAD-SEA). He holds M.Sc in Environmental Sciences Degree (University of Malawi, 2004) focusing on Geographic Information System (GIS) for water resource management. Also holds Bachelor of Education Degree- Geography & Earth Sciences (University of Malawi, 1994). He has Advanced Certificate in Water Resource Mapping and Monitoring (Google.Inc, USA, 2009) focusing on the use of Google Earth and Remote Sensing techniques. Has another Advanced Certificate in Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation, water resources (Wolfon College, University of Oxford, 2008).
Mathews is a Project Manager for Participatory Geographic Information System (PGIS). He is also Field Coordinator for, Lake Chilwa Climate Change Adaptation Programme (LCBCCAP). He manages the LEAD SEA’s Information Technology (IT) department and assists in National and Regional LEAD Trainings.
Before joining LEAD, Mathews worked with WaterAid (2006 as Regional Programme Officer – Planning, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation (Southern Africa Region).
In 2004-2005 Mathews worked with UNDP as Planning Advisor under Poverty Alliviation Project.
