Welcome to LEADSEA

a national entity born out of the global Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) network. Founded in 1991 in anticipation of the UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), commonly known as the Earth Summit, LEAD has been at the forefront of addressing sustainable development challenges for over three decades.
Pioneering Sustainable Development
LEAD's journey traces back to the seminal 1987 Brundtland Commission Report, "Our Common Future," which defined sustainable development as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. The report catalyzed the Earth Summit in 1992, leading to the Rio Declaration and Agenda 21.
